Missions Support Role Descriptions
Missions Support Responsibilities
Prayers A Prayer prays regularly for our local community, unreached people groups around the world and those teams trying to reach them. They pray for each of the specific roles (Prayers, Senders, Welcomers, Goers and Mobilizers) that play an important part in fulfilling God’s purpose both locally and globally. Prayers will actively seek out needs of those who need to be reached and the needs of those reaching them to pray specifically for those needs. Prayers pray individually or join prayer teams to ensure that they fulfill their role as Prayers. Mobilizers A Mobilizer teaches, motivates and encourages other Christians to connect with God’s purpose for reaching local communities and unreached people groups around the world. In order to help fulfill God’s purpose, Mobilizers help other Christians discover their specific role as either Prayers, Senders, Welcomers, Goer and/or Mobilizers. Mobilizers help Christians get connected to the right ministries so they can fulfill their roles. Mobilizers teach people, pray with people, challenge people, lead small groups, join teams and work toward moving Christians to fulfill God’s purpose. Mobilizers encourage people to step outside their comfort zone and invite others to join them as they participate in fulfilling God’s purpose. Senders Senders support the Welcomers, Goers and Mobilizers by daily caring, praying, strategizing and financially giving to meet their needs for the purpose of fulfilling God’s purpose of reaching local communities and unreached people groups around the world. Senders live reasonably in order to provide finances needed to accomplish God’s purpose. Senders partner with others who are involved in fulfilling God’s purpose, so that, together they can accomplish much much more than they could on their own. Goers A Goer is someone who is on the move in one's own community, among one's own culture or another culture far away attempting to be God’s representative to that culture. Goers prepare themselves spiritually, emotionally, socially, intellectually and financially to live within the means of whatever culture they are, or will be living. A Goer gets informed about the practical needs of a hurting world around them locally and the needs of unreached people groups across the globe as a means of identifying how and where they might serve. Goers work toward being debt free, have a passport in hand, participate in short-term mission trips, reach out to their local community. Welcomers Welcomers are very hospitable people. They use their home and resources to ensure that visitors feel welcome and loved when in their home, church, community or culture. Welcomers set aside a room in their own home or have another home that they use specifically for the purpose of housing Goers or comers who are home or away from home for a short time. Welcomers keep their eyes and ears tuned in to new people in the community and/or church and look for ways to make these people feel at home. Welcomers also keep their ears and eyes open for missionary goings and comings and they do all they can to make the adjustments to these transitions smooth and as comfortable as possible.
